EMSB completes $5.5 million renovation at James Lyng complex
The English Montreal School Board has completed a $5.5 million renovation at the complex in St. Henri that houses James Lyng High School and Adult Education Centre as well as Focus and Outreach Alternative High Schools.
Besides work on the roof, skylights, light fixtures and heating coils, all of the doors to the stairwells as were those in the vestibule areas (the space between the exterior and interior doors at the entrances). The latter involved the installation of insulated doors and curtain walls. Meanwhile, the high school administration is very excited to report on the significant upgrade to the auditorium. It has been outfitted with 129 new seats, with desktops attached for tablets or laptops; eight mobile seats to accommodate individuals in wheelchairs; and new flooring and a fresh paint job. The work was overseen by Cohlmeyer Architecture.
